Opportunity
AdventHealth, a premier health system serving Florida and eight states across the United States, is seeking a highly qualified, dedicated, and strategic-minded finance professional as its next Chief Financial Officer of Physician Enterprise & Ambulatory Services in the Central Florida Division – South.
As a senior executive of AdventHealth’s provider enterprise – the third largest book of business in the whole system with a total operating revenue of $1B and 1,400 providers – the CFO will hold a highly visible role and be included in strategic decisions of the organization. Key priorities will include overseeing financial operations for the medical group and ambulatory business units in the region, with a focus on physician alignment and TIN strategy; championing AdventHealth’s five-year growth strategy by developing business cases to support significant provider recruitment; rate setting for APPs in select service lines; and assessing the strategic value of ambulatory assets from a capital cost, earnings, and network referrals standpoint to expand market share. The CFO will also bring industry experience in physician practice operational efficiencies to this rapidly growing medical group, with the goal to become a best-in-class provider enterprise. This leader will have a clear focus on communication and collaboration across the integrated system to advance market and regional priorities in line with health system finance and shared services performance.
Position Summary
Under the direction of the CEO of Physician Enterprise and Ambulatory Services, the Chief Financial Officer supports the financial, operational and strategic goals and initiatives of the Ambulatory entities and business units in the Central Florida Division – South which include, but are not limited to, the following: AdventHealth Medical Group, AdventHealth Imaging, Sports Med & Rehab, Outreach Lab, Retail Pharmacy, Health Parks, Ambulatory Surgery Centers and Physician Affiliation Agreements. The CFO provides support and direction with respect to various medical group and ambulatory acquisitions and joint venture and strategic partnership opportunities, including the coordination of business valuations, transaction document preparation, and compliance review. The executive is the financial advisor/counselor for the organization. The CFO is responsible for planning and controlling the financial activities of the organization while maintaining compliance with overall policies and procedures. The CFO plans, organizes and administers the organization-wide programs of financial management and reporting, revenue cycle operations, and other assigned departments and functions to best meet the strategic needs and objectives of the organization.
Position Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance preferred.
License, Certification, Registration
- Licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
Experience
- Five-plus years in finance management required.
- Five-plus years in healthcare management required.
- Ten-plus years of senior leadership experience required.
- Highly advanced financial skills required.
- Identification and commitment to mission, philosophy, and goals of organization required.
- People skills including motivating, communicating and conflict resolution.
- Previous experience as a hospital Chief Financial Officer is highly desired.
- Large multi-specialty medical group experience with working in a complex delivery system is preferred.
- Experience in Population Health is preferred.
