UVA Health, the University of Virginia’s premier $4.5B academic health system and one of the longest standing medical institutions in the country, is seeking a highly qualified access professional as its next Administrator of Ambulatory Access.
As a key system level leader at UVA Health, the Administrator—a Vice President equivalent role—will report directly to the Chief Ambulatory Operations Officer and hold a highly visible position modernizing UVA’s patient access journey. The Administrator will be responsible for all UVA Health access-related activities (scheduling, call centers, and referrals) across the University Physician Group, Clinical Practice Group and Community Health Medical Group. Key priorities include (1) implementing access transformation initiatives in infrastructure design and workflow harmonization to promote efficient scheduling across clinical service lines, ambulatory clinics, and procedural areas; (2) building side-by-side relationships for influential change management with key clinical, revenue cycle, and IT stakeholders across the ambulatory enterprise; and (3) leadership to manage a system-wide team of 600 in meeting or exceeding access service standards.
Position Summary
The Administrator Ambulatory Access is responsible for the administrative, operational and financial performance of UVA Health scheduling, call centers, and referrals. This role will be crucial in enhancing UVA Health’s access programs to efficiently support strategic network goals. This role involves partnering with key collaborators, strategic planning, financial oversight, and encouraging collaboration across various departments to ensure patient-centric access.
