Opportunity

MedStar Health, a premier health system serving Maryland and the Washington D.C. region, is seeking a highly qualified, dedicated, and passionate finance professional as its next Vice President of Finance and Accounting Operations.

This leader will hold a highly visible role and be included in high-level strategic decisions of the organization. Key priorities will include increasing the use of technology to improve all areas of financial operations, with a focus on accounting operations, accounts payable, payroll, and financial reporting.

Position Summary

This finance leader is responsible for overseeing all aspects of MedStar’s financial and accounting operations, including financial transaction processing, financial close and consolidation, accounting policy and procedures, financial reporting, and technical accounting matters for the System’s more than 20 entities and $7.3 billion in annual net revenue.  

Position Requirements

Education and Licensure

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting required.
• CPA licensure required.

Experience

• 10+ years of progressive financial accounting and management experience in health care, with at least 8 to 10 years current or prior experience with a public accounting firm.
• Exceptional technical, communication and leadership skills. 
• Advanced knowledge of project management; ability to lead multiple projects and associated personnel and achieve required results and timelines.
