Penn State Health, a premier $4.5B academic health system growing to $4.8B this year and serving communities across central Pennsylvania, is seeking a highly qualified professional as its next enterprise Vice President of Treasury and Investment.
Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer as a member of the senior executive team, the Treasurer will hold a highly visible role overseeing the organization’s treasury operations, investment portfolio, corporate tax, and key financial processes. This role ensures effective management of cash, liquidity, and financial risk and is responsible for leading the company’s financing activities including structuring and negotiating credit transactions as well as managing relationships with investors, rating agencies and commercial lenders.
Position Summary
The VP, Treasurer is a strategic financial leader responsible for overseeing the organization’s treasury operations, investment portfolio, corporate tax compliance, and key financial processes. This role ensures the effective management of cash, liquidity, and financial risk, playing a critical role in supporting the financial sustainability and mission of Penn State Health.
Position Requirements
Education, Licensure, and Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a related business field required
- CPA or MBA required.
Experience
- Ten (10) years of progressive finance, investments and broad treasury experience. This experience must include cash management, portfolio allocation, investment strategies, manager selection and investment management, as well as malpractice and other insurance risk management.
- Seven (7) years of leadership experience in a highly matrixed setting.
- Previous experience reporting to both the Board and executive leadership.
- Deep understanding of financial systems, controls, and regulatory compliance.
- Academic medical center experience is preferred.
